The Trump family’s travel will cost as much in one year as Obama cost in 8

Trump has 42 people who need protection, plus he traveled every weekend.  In his first year on the “job,” he will cost the Secret Service as much money as the Obama family cost over their full 8 years.

What a sad state of affairs when F500 CEOs show a better moral compass than POTUS

After last weekends racist riots and Trump failing to condemn the racists, yesterday several F500 CEOs resigned from Trump’s administration in protest and lashed out at him.  What a sad state the US is in, when F500 CEOs show stronger moral fortitude than the President of the US.  Trmp was recently described as a “vile man,” and to date that is truly the best description for him.  Vile. What is sad is that the racists are misguided – they blame minorities for their problems when really it is our Decision Makers of the past 40 years who put us where we are in terms of disparity, including decisions made by the very same/wealthy F500 CEOs who are speaking out against Trump.

The riots last weekend really aroused people of all kinds and beliefs on all sides, even before a racists drove through a crowd of protestors.

Some disturbing facts about college football

College football players are paid very little, over a third of them won’t graduate, only 1.6% of them will make any money playing pro football, all while damaging their brains in ways that won’t show for 8-10 years after they finish playing; 2/3rds of college football programs lose money. Players who are injured have to pay for their own medical care.

It can’t last, can it?

Trump is in Everett today, which at one time was dominated by Boeing. But there are rumors that Boeing will start making planes overseas. We have so many working poor, yet continue to funnel business overseas, which costs US jobs and allows a few Execs to pocket the profits at the expense of the average American. Additionally, globalization can’t be great for global warming and our food supplies (like the Ocean). So at some point, this will end. Humans will die from global warming or there will be war that shuts it all down, so that hopefully centuries from now this is seen as a short-term blip – or not remembered at all since we store all our records in cyberspace, which means a catastrophe will eradicate all these files. Anyway, I continue to feel discouraged but also encouraged that the world will survive the greed and this isn’t sustainable beyond a few generations.

Trump did one good thing after all – called foundations on the carpet

Wife M is back in school, and has studied the Clintons a little. Basically, they are corrupt people who’ve ravaged Latin America and used their foundation to enrich and empower themselves even more than they Already were. But that aside, I think foundations are a convenient tool for rich people to avoid taxes, employ friends and get free toys/trips. So I was glad to see Trump/Chump call them on the carpet about it and hope we are getting closer to reform. Terrorists/Revolutionaries blow up shopping malls but they should be blowing up private yachts and private jets and rax-dodging Corporate Board Rooms if they want to see change (note: I am not saying they should do this – I am a peaceful person – but blowing up common people is a useless instrument of tragedy). Anyway, I look forward to the days when us Commoners peacefully put an end to foundations, tax breaks and private yachts/jets.

Another strange dream with Little House On The Prairie like setting but a strange plot :)

Dreamt that there were three characters, one of them a manipulative character who gave one of her daughters poison to inherit a small fortune she’d inherited.  The girl died as they drove out of town on a jalopy.  She was then arrested, and the money came back to town and went to someone I was hanging out with (in a setting that was a little like Little House in the Praire and a little like McCabe and Mrs. Miller).  The person (who I didn’t know) inherited a relative fortune of 5K in 1800s dollars, and was not going to have to work again, but their luck inspired resentment and jealousy in others.  I was thinking the person might be wise to share some of the wealth, that they could work part-time (instead of not at all) to avoid running out of money in their life time while shareing the wealth, which would not only be nice but would still allow the person to live a nice life while avoiding a fate similar to the person who was poisoned for that money; then, without my saying anything, the person had the same idea, and I said that sounded like a good plan.  People were smiling and happy about this plan as I woke up.  Much of the dream took place in a bar/saloon like place that was elevated on stilts but had an open feel inside, like a hotel bar.  All of the area was elevated, like that town in the inner passage of Alaska (can’t recall the name right now 🙂 ).

Once again, the dream took place in a perpetual dusk-twilight setting, as last night’s dream.  Am I dreaming in dusk like darkness all the time?  Be curious to see.. Maybe it’s because my office doesn’t have windows 🙂

Feeling like the country is in a Civil Cold War

All the killings. Don’t remember a time like this in my life in the US. What will pull us out of it? Usually it is something shocking that requires everyone to rally together, which isn’t ideal, especially since it means the underlying issues won’t get addressed. For me, I feel like at the root of it is the US government is too focused on special interests and not jus
the citizens of the world. All the other issues are casualties of that.
