The mad rush for the eclipse starts tomorrow

For months, the the hype surrounding the Oregon eclipse has been building, and tomorrow is the day that the mad rush to Oregon begins.  It is said that gas stations will run low on gas, cell service will be interrupted due to demand, highways will be so clogged as to be almost impassible.  Ironically, we have a family place in Oregon but won’t be staying, for a few reasons: we have other commitments, we promised our place to a friend a long time ago, we honestly don’t care that much about the eclipse, and I remember the hype of 1979 only to be disappointed (in fact, it was cloudy that day).  I am happy for all the people who are so excited, but I myself will miss that day, although it would be interesting to watch the massive crowds.
