Am reading the interesting book “Silk Roads,” and it mentions that a court historian in ancient China was castrated for defending a young general who was defeated in battle. It never ceases to amaze me what human beings will do to one another, and what an overall crazy species we are. Sheesh, a good day is one where you are not castrated. How could you ever emotionally recover from that? He continued to work, but how would you not devote all your time and energies to seeking revenge against the persons responsible?
