Wife M and I binge watched Stranger Things this weekend and finished the last episode of season 1 last night. We liked it and it was a great transition show for taking us from summer to the halloween feel of fall. It seemed to nod a lot towards 1980 horror films, which I liked and the director/editor handled with grace. There were scenes similar to those of ET (opening D&D scene, “alien” in a wig, boys on bikes riding away from scientists, etc.), Nightmare on Elm Street (set a trap from the monster after luring it from its world), Poltergeist (mom talking to child trapped in another dimension), and so on. I really enjoyed thd show. Creepy, gripping and nostalgic, plus was a good yarn.
