I love the movie “Drive.” It is great characters living a life I’lll never see but like to watch. Some observations/notes:
There is a dream like quality while they are driving through the LA waterways before having their brief picnic in a Shangri-la. Like a dream that can’t possibly continue.
“He’s never had a lot of luck.”. Foreshadowing that Cranston’s character’s presence will lead to a bad thing.
“My husband is getting out of prison” – the car is bathed in red light. A warning.
“Sorry about all the noise.”. Her husband’s return has created noise in their life and will do so.
Everything is bathed in green and blue, like underwater.
His back is in the mirror when he talks of knocking off the pawn shop. He is not looking at the danger/risk.
In the coffee shop, she is dressed in red. In the hall, everything is in red.
